ANTICA TENUTA LE PIANE Agritourism Amandola, Fermo
It is a cool morning at the end of April, the sky is deep blue and the sun is shining, the road which leads me towards Amandola, about 38 km from Ascoli Piceno is a continuation of green hills and in front of me, snowy mountains. It is spring, but here the snow has returned which gives this context a bright light of pure white and that fresh air which drives me crazy! I stop several times to photograph the scenery and to breathe in all that energy. I enter into a country road and from there I soon reach Antica Tenuta le Piane, a hamlet of the '600 brought back to life, surrounded by greenery, within the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains.
Alessandra is a special woman, sweet, kind and outgoing all at the same time, who has a natural way with people. She welcomes me into her house with open arms. In fact, she lives in one of the brick farmhouses on the estate, an old hunting lodge. She is always present and available for her guests at any time of the day and, if necessary, also at night. She shows me the various houses which make up the estate and the swimming pools: the houses that make up Il Piccolo Borgo, the houses of La Fattoria, Le Terrazze house and Villa Cerro, the latter with its exclusive swimming pool, all different from each other, but all with that rustic feel of exposed brick walls which are also on the inside, there is an old manger transformed into a corner of flowers, old restored wood stoves, a mix of old and new where nothing is missing. Each home with its own independent entrance, an area of garden or a terrace with a view of the Sibillini Mountains, a barbecue area and access to the pools. We walk along the entire estate chatting and she shows me every corner: in an old cottage with an old wood oven she has created a fitness area covered with newspapers from all over the world, the visual impact is great. In another farmhouse, an old building used for country tools, she has created a play area and a store room for mountain bikes, because from here you can leave for a thousand paths, to go cycling up and down the valley. It’s a continuous discovery of hidden corners and in the background, always those blue Sibillini Mountains.
What struck me
- Walking on the estate and discovering all of its corners
- The swimming pools, surrounded by greenery and reached by the small streets which connect the houses to each other
- The rustic character of the apartments with old stoves, wicker baskets, wooden beams and plenty of comfort
